Project overview
The Coronado Springs Resort and Convention Center project, located in Orlando, FL, was a large-scale commercial construction endeavor that exemplified excellence in the hospitality sector. Construct Two Group, in a joint venture with Centex Construction, spearheaded this ambitious development for Walt Disney Imagineering. The project encompassed a 200,000 square foot Southwestern/Mexican-themed resort sprawling across a 142-acre site. It featured 12 lodge buildings housing 1,921 rooms, complemented by a state-of-the-art 250,000 square foot convention center.
The complex also included auxiliary facilities such as a health club, two laundry buildings, a Pargo building, bus pavilion, pool buildings, and various other site structures. Completed in November 1997 at a cost of $135 million, this 50,000 square foot development showcased the team’s ability to deliver a multifaceted, themed resort and convention center. The project’s success was recognized with the prestigious ABC Eagle Award for “Excellence in Construction,” underscoring its significance in the commercial construction landscape.
