Implementation process

The Winter Haven Area Transit (W.H.A.T.) facility project, completed in December 2007, followed a comprehensive implementation process that ensured efficient construction and integration of all key elements. The $3.2 million project transformed a 5,979 sq. ft. area into a modern transit hub, blending functionality with Mediterranean design aesthetics. The process involved careful planning and execution of various construction phases, from site preparation to final handover.

Key steps in the implementation process:

  • Site preparation and concrete foundation laying
  • Erection of structural framework, including wood trusses and roof decking
  •  Exterior construction featuring stucco finish and tiled roofing
  • Installation of critical systems: HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
  • Interior finishing, including the integration of a local artist’s mosaic design
  • Development of twelve bus bays and surrounding site infrastructure
